Myths and heroes Introduction:

Today I am going to present the notion of “myths and heroes”. To begin with this notion, it seems important to define the terms of the notion. A myth can be defined as a story about heroes and gods. It’s generally an old story carried from generations to generations about unreal events from the past, often lead by a hero. Precisely, heroes are men and women who help or inspire others. Some are ordinary like firemen who risked their life everyday and some are not. They have many qualities in order to make the world better everyday. Today we will talk about fictional heroes with the example of James Bond. So let’s ask ourselves how heroes can influence people as fictional models? In a first part, we are going to explain how to become a hero through qualities and actions. Then, with the character of James Bond, we will see how fictional heroes can be considerate as models.

I/ how to become a hero? In order to become a hero, we need to answer at several conditions. First, we should have many qualities such as courage in dangerous situations, smartness to set up strategies against ennemies for example but we also need to be strong and valiant to be the most effective possible. In fact, if we want to be a real hero, we have to prouve it through our acts in order to make the difference between us and the others by surpassing ourselves. In addition, it seems important to progress and evolve constantly. Then, we can say that James Bond is the perfect example to illustrate the hero's definition. In fact, as the most famous British spy, James Bond embodies all the values of the perfect gentleman who saves the world and the people by always being brave against vilains/ bad guys. For example, he is able to jump on the top of a moving train to save people.

II/ How heroes are considerate as models?

First, Heroes like James Bond or super man which is a fictional hero too are able to realise extraordinary actions such as to risk their lives to save the other’s one. However, fictional heroes stay attainable and identifiable because they have qualities and values which everybody can get if they want to as the ones we mentioned earlier. However, theses fictional heroes didn’t have only qualities but also everyday defects such as stress... that they are able to forget when they enter into their superheroes life. In addition, theses fictional heroes have basics lives which represent one of the main points that make people can identify hisself to the hero. As a consequence, it encourage people to follow this way in order to make themselves better and to make their entourage proud of them and to improve the world too.

Conclusion: to conclude, we can say and I think that fictional heroes can influence and inspire people who watch them because in spite of their superpowers, they have a life which is very close to reality so which is atteignable for the watchers. So fictional heroes can be seen as an inspiration and a motivation too with their lives that sway between normal and atypical life. As a consequences it allows to people to reached their life objective by inspiring them to fictional heroes which can represent society exemple.

However, their also exist real and everyday heroes who are more attainable like Simone Veil who fights for women’s rights or Martin Luther king who fights for black
