The notion I am going to deal with is « Spaces and Exchanges ». To begin with, I’ld like to give a definition of the notion : an exchange is an act of giving and receiving something else in return. It can also be seen as a continuous movement or circulation. There are different kinds of exchanges : media, people, trade... To illustrate the notion, I have chosen to talk about immigration in the USA. We way wonder to what extent immigration may be considered as a form of exchange. We chose to study that notion through the angle of immigration in the USA and so, We may wonder to what extend immigration might be considered as a debat issue

It is clear that with that evolution people witnessthe appearance of new family types. Divorces led to a new phenomenon called blended families as we can see on document 4. Thus, each divorced parent bringing one’s own children in one’s «new» family.It is also possible for a womanor a manto adopt achild or educate a child alone, creating the concept of single-parent family. Interracial couples show also the diversity in the idea of new family types.This the same with the same-sex couples and parents institutionalised by the laws on same-sex marriage.Finally, science also contributes to that evolution with the case of surrogate mothers. Thoselast two examples being iluustrated with humour on document 5.Those new family types led also to new family relationships. Indeed, there is a redefinition of family values, since traditional ones are almost excluded. Then, they can create some emotional instability to the child who sometimes loses one’s marks bacause of the shifting gender role. The pattern father/mother beingsometimes difficult to find as well as the notion of authority or role-model.However, it canalsolead to some acceptation and tolerance from the children but also from the society since those new types are more and more frequent.
