What tourism for what planet?

To begin my presentation on the notion spaces and exchanges. To begin, I will first define the notion of spaces and exchanges. Spaces are a place anywhere and the different spaces of the world. Spaces are increasingly connected to each other and today, all spaces are accessible with technology. Exchanges consist in giving one thing and receiving another in return. Trade can come in many forms: people, commerce, information, travel, work ... We will focus on which tourism is best for the planet? We will answer by seeing how is tourism nowadays and tourism that will be good for the planet.

Firstly, I would like to talk about current tourism which can be considered as a mass tourism, indeed because the tourist sites are visited by millions of people every year and this activity destroy the tourist sites because people throw waste and degrades those places where planes or boats that pollute. But there are also positive points in fact these millions of tourists run the economy and that it allows to develop the use the had to share. We can give the example of Venice which is a tourist city in the north-east of Italy with tens of millions of tourists every year thanks to its known monuments. But this mass tourism destroys the city and the inhabitants of Venice want to fight against it like activists where they have put in place rules of the tourist responsible as not to throw garbage or not to sit on the monuments and these activists want that the flow of tourists is less important to preserve their city by proposing solutions such as less boat in the bay of Venice or an awareness campaign.

However, there is another form of tourism that is developing and is more respectful of the environment is the WOOFING. The concept is to leave several weeks or months in an organic farm or in exchange for working in the farm of your host and you are lodging, feed the inhabitants this mode of tourism has several advantages like the costs which are low the respect of the environment and it's friendly to share a moment with this family of foreign farmer. On the other hand, in return for their hospitality, you have to do some stains on their farm an hour a day and the rest of the day you can visit and have fun. It takes several qualities to make WOOFING to be willing and involved and not afraid of work. The most important thing about this tourism is that in these farms you learn sustainable development and respect for ecology and this type of tourism has no negative impact on the planet.

In conclusion I will say that current mass tourism degrades all the beautiful tourist places that will end up being destroyed. But other rounds of tourism are possible as the environmentally friendly WOOFING is to be a tourism fit for our planet.
