Let’s begin the news in English, today there are these border conflicts between South Africa and its neighboring countries including Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and finally Zimbabwe, which intertwine crimes, disagreement and fear of the population, Linda Favor presents with us, will explain all these differences between African countries

* Hello Linda, thank you for being here

* Hello Emilie

* We have seen some crime at the border gates of South Africa, how can this be explained?

* So yes, whether it’s in Mozambique or Botswana, there are a lot of illegal acts, theft, burglary, assault or rape.And all of these criminality exist in all countries bordering the South Africa. But what remains the most surprising is this business of smugglers that was created as a result of a difficulty in obtaining the necessary documents to legally cross the border from Botswana to South Africa. Entire families hide in the shrubs and wait for smugglers to help them move across the border. They are asking for R2000, which is about $108 per person.

* Of course this is a surprising business, but is the government handling the situation ?

We do not believe in building walls. and that defines who we are. We are South Africans and we do not subscribe to the building of walls” and he added, “and besides, we don't have money”.

* This is paradoxical because during the lockdown of COVID-19, the Public Works Department has started erecting the 40 kilometers fence between S-A and Zimbabwe.

* Yes I agree, but it was because the fence was destroyed over the years, a result of criminal activities, you know everything is connected, the workers on this repair hope for a necessary security that will help the inhabitants live without the fear of going out.

* Of course and to finish this report, what can you say about the relations between S-A and Namibia ?

* South Africa, as you know, conquered what is now Namibia when it belonged to Germany during the First World War. She occupied it until its independence in 1990. During the period before independence, Namibia was often administered as a fifth province in South Africa, as can be seen in the economic and military fields under the apartheid regime. In 1994, apartheid
