PLACES AND FORMS OF POWER

T°S

I'm going to talk about the notion "places and forms of powers". First, I will define the notion: power is the ability to control others, events or resources, the ability to make things happen despite obstacles, resistance or opposition. This of curse lead to conflict between those who have power and those who don't.

With the increase of obesity due to fast food restaurants, we can ask ourselves : Can we fight against junk food ?

To tackle this issue, I will start with the points that we can't fight, then these we can fight, and I will finish with the future food we could eat in few years.

I)

Fast foods have become the "empire" of obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure but you can't fight against them in some point.

- First fast foods have too much power on the movie " supersize me " we can see that lot of people attacked fast foods in justice, but the lawyers buried all the affairs. The industries of fast food provide a lot of money and closing some fast food could be a big damage in the economy.

- Moreover, all the sugar, fats and salt contained in fast food meals make people addicted, and an article written by Peg Tyre for Newsweek named " the war on fat" denounce that phenomenon. The journalist says that marketing practices encourage obesity. In this article, a testimony of Caesar Barber is really alarming, Caesar said that he ate in fast food twice a week for 28 years, but he became sick and now he is the lead plaintiff in an anti-fast food lawsuit file. He hopes to convince that fast foods didn't tell their customers that junk food could damage their health.

- It's also a problem of hard personal choice, in a video named "healthy food or not ?", we are everyday temped to eat in fast food; there are more and more fast foods in cities and have lots of advertisements on the streets or on the TV. Fast foods are very influencing and there are many people fall into the trap.

II)

Now I will speak about the things that we can fight on.

- In London, the mayor wants to tackle the issue of obesity and he create law to fight against children's obesity, because 40% of them are suffering of obesity. Now no fast food can be built from within 400 meters of any existing or planned primary secondary schools.

-But it's not all, he also wants to van adverts in public transport because the junk food adverts are responsible for obesity.

- and nowadays, people tend to eat better food, so a new growing trend appears on roofs: the rooftop gardening. Thins consists to create a garden on the top on buildings and then you can eat your own vegetables and fruits. It's a really good trend to make people healthy food and be more "green".

III)

Finally, I would bring to light the future food we could see in few years .

- with the increase of people, we have to think about alternatives to find food for everyone. Researchers have found that insects are key to our future food security; they contain a lot of protein and good fat. And they are abundantly available.

The lab meat is also a good alternative but it's really expensive.

Algae are a good source of vitamins and minerals and are the fastest plants to grow on earth.

To finish with fish farming is already source of for 3.5 billion peoples. 35 countries produce more farm fish than fish caught in the wild.
