I want to introduce Barack Obama, I will talk about his life, why he is popular, and why I decided to choose him
To begin with, Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4th 1961, in Hawaii, he is married with Michelle Robinson, and he has got 2 children : Malia Ann Obama and Natasha Obama. His parents divorced when he was 10 years
On January 20th 2009, he became the 44th President of the United States, but before, he was lawyer, Professor of constitutional law
Community organizer and author.
The election of Barack Obama is a historic moment for America because he is the first black man to be elected president of the United States. 150 years after slavery and segregation, this victory is the victory of blacks and their ancestors who have struggled against injustice. This victory has a strong significance for them as it shows us that we must always keep hope, even if the fight is long. For them, this represents an evolution for tolerance of minorities. This victory proves that everything is possible if peoples are united together for the same cause.
Moreover, Barack Obama is always associated to the sentence “yes we can” pronounced many times during the campaign speech in New Hampshire on January 20, 2008. This sentence means that Americans can overcome hardships insurmountable, and, also, as he said in his speech “they can repair the world”.
To conclude, I decided to choose Barack Obama because, in my mind, he is the only politician who is appreciate by young people, and also because his election showed that slavery our skin colour is not important, and that racism is a stupid thing.
