The notion can define as the progress of evolution, especially of humanity the change in relationships between people.

to what extent immigration triggers a change in society ?

To answer we will see on first part the American dream, on second part we will studies the mixing traditions in US.

1- The American dream

The United States is the land of opportunity, where everything is possible, the laws are more flexible. Some migrants who leave nothing, no money, no relationship, no diplomas and can really succeed. For example is the case of Jose Vargas (a text reading in the book). His mother sent him to the Usa, to give him more opportunities. He reached prosperity and success through hard work, he considered he has lived the American dream because he has assimilated well, he has gone through his studied successfully and he has got a job. He has even been awarded the Pulitzer Prize. His life is a success story. Yet he has difficulty to have a green card, a green card is a document showing evidence of your lawful permanent resident status in the United States. The face of a green card shows information such as name, alien registration number, and country of birth, birth date, resident date, fingerprint and photo.

Many immigrants think the U.S. is the perfect place but finally there are many constraints

2- Mixing tradition

Latino culture is now everywhere in the US for example, Spanish brands are known to E.U Zara, Mango, Desigual. Spanish cuisine is also exported; today we see that there are many restaurants offering chorus, tapas, paella, and sangria. Latino origins of many pop stars like Penelope Cruz she is known in the U.S., she performed in several U.S. movies like Vaniila Sky.

On the film Quinceanera we see that Latino traditions transform when transposed in USA. in fact the entrance to the ceremony is traditional, they are traditional dances. But in the end it is the music of hip hop style.

Thanks to the different tradition, a new language appears, it’s the Spanglish : it is a mixture between Spanish and English, new words exist for exemple Backupear is back up a car, yarda is yard. It are English word with a Spanish twist, typical of Spanglish
