II.        General Company Description

We will be in the business of bags manufacturing. We will produce paper bags for specially supermarkets and any type of retailers.

Our main objective is to substitute the plastic bags use in Tunisia, we aim to be the leader in bags production in Tunisia, and we can export our product to Europe because of our low prices and god quality product.

We can also be our own supplier by recycling the paper craft that is our raw material.

We will be the supplier of the supermarket such as Carrefour, Magasin General, Monoprix and Geant.

Our philosophy: Efficiency and good quality in order to protect environment.

To be a Trustworthy company that can takes up new challenges.

Paper bags industry is growing because of the substitution of the plastic bags all over the world and the importance of the environment’s protection.

The main threat of this market is plastic bag manufacture, in the short term we will be the only producer of this kind of bags (paper bags), in the long term we will probably have competitors.

Our company will have the advantage of the experience; it will have the trust of the customers and will be its own supplier when the competitors will be in the market that will give us the advantage of a lower price.

Smart Bags is the first company in Tunisia that is producing low cost paper bags and after our first negotiation with decision makers, we can say that our company will succeed  


III.        OPPORTUNITY EVALUATION

There is a big market opportunity because our product will substitute the plastic bags that constitute a big market all over Tunisia for supermarkets and retailers.

The project is feasible, we just need to buy a plant and build a manufacture, purchase machines and recruit worker

We have the advantage of being the first company to sell this kind of bags in Tunisia

We don’t need commercialization. We already contacted supermarket mangers and they liked the idea, we just need to sign contract with them.

The market exists but no one invested on it. We can earn enough profit and the risk is limited as long as we sign contract with customers.  

IV. Legal aspects of your business & Legal Environment

The legal form of our company is SARL

We have to fill a “cahier des charges” for a simple manufacture.

Is there any legal difficulty to set up the business? If yes, how to overcome it?

V. Products and Services

We will produce paper bags with handles for supermarkets, it will help the supermarket’s clients to take their product easily, and avoid the plastic bags that pollute the environment.

What factors will give you competitive advantages or disadvantages? Examples include level of quality or unique or proprietary features.

The paper bag’s have the advantage of being recyclable and biodegradable.

There are more resistant than the plastic bags with higher capacity of bringing.

The price is higher but competitive because the quantity needed by the costumers will be lower, so a lower expenses for a better product.

VI.        Marketing Plan

The total size of the market is about 6.000.000 bags /year when it comes to supermarkets.

We plan to monopolize the whole market of bags for supermarkets.

The paper bags market does not exist in Tunisia yet. The only bags that are available are plastic bags.

o        Change in technology: if technology improves, we will have lower costs. This will lead to higher profit.

o        Change in government regulations: if the government prohibits the production of plastic bags, we will have a huge demand.

SMARTBAGS will produce square bottom paper bags with twisted handles.
