Chuck Norris : myths and heroes (document anglais)

To begin, for me the definition of a hero :

It's a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.

A person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal.

It's also the principal character in a story, play, film, etc.

I chose to present you Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris is a famous American actor who played in 37 (thirty-seven) movies. Chuck Norris or Carlos Ray Norris was born on the 10th of march 1940 in Oklahoma (USA). After his studies he was undertaken in the US Air Force and went in South Korea where he learned martial arts. He practised Tae Kwon Do, Ju-Jitsu, Judo and he was the World Champion of Karate in 1968. He created the United Fighting Arts Federation (is a martial arts organization). In 1976 he played in his first big production with Bruce Lee: Meng long Quojiang, which was famous for the final fight between Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. This movie revealed his talent as an actor and his career began. He played in a lot of Police Movies like An Eye for an Eye (1981) and Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), American Patriotic movies where he fought communism and other threats like Invasion USA (1985), Delta Force I and II (1986/1990) or Missing in Action I, II and III (1984/19851988). He became a republican symbol and a heroic idol of the USA during this hard period (threat of another world war…). During this period he created the Kick Drugs Out of America which helped young men who take drugs. In 1993, he played in Walker Texas Ranger, and ensured his celebrity! After 2005, he stopped working in the cinema and television area.

Why I chose him?

Today chuck norris is considered as a god.

Because it is a well-known actor who has done things completely impossible.

Since then, there are the "Chuck Norris Facts" that put Chuck in impossible situations, like

«Chuck Norris has managed to count to infinity. Twice.»

«Chuck Norris does not get wet, it is water that this Chuck Norris.»

«Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch. He decides what time it is.»

This shows that Chuck is far from being an ordinary person.

That's basically why I admire him, today it's one of Pricipals American symbol, it is a good actor, and especially what I like is the facts about him, this is so unreal and funny at the same time. That to me is a person that I admire much and I hope you get this oral discover this character and understood why it can be considered as a hero.
