1. What can an immigrant offer to the country he move to ?

Immigrants can offert a lot of the country he moves to :

• First he can offert a NEW LANGUAGE : some words of french are from other language.

• Also he can offer a NEW CULTURE : he can bring with him culture like american series, dance like salsa for example. It can be clothes.

• Plus, he can offer NEW FOOD : with immigration, we discover different kind of food like Chinese food or Italian food.

• Indeed, it help the country of increase the country’s productivity. For example, after the 2nd war, France needed worforce to help to rebuild the country. It was mostly workers.

1. How can an immigrant benefit from moving to a new country ?

An immigrant can benefit from many reasons :

• To start, an immigrant can benefit from medical aid : contrary to their country in which they don’t have it, this brings him a better life.

• Moreover, an immigrant can come to France for his studies : In France, there are more University than immigrate’s country and and there are more possibility to find a job.

• Love can lead someone to leave their country to follow their boyfriend or girlfriend to a new country. It can also allow them to discover a new country and a new culture as well as to learn the language.

• Finally, an immigrant can move to a new country for political reasons like a war : this person is not safe in his country so he will immigrate to a new country.

Why migrants cross the channel BBC Newsbeast :

People arre risking their life to get into the UK, They come to calais to then go in Britain.

But for what reason ?

Several reasons push them from their country to go to UK.

First, they leave for asylum France grants more people asylium but UK approves a higher proportion.

Also, they want to go to UK for jobs : many migrants looking for work, and in a UK there are more chance to getting a job :  in UK the unemployment is relatively low (unemployment 5.5%), in France, this one represents the double that UK. 

Moreover, the Language is important : English is the 3rd most spoken language in the world and many migrant speak English.

Then they go to UK for money : In the UK asylum seekers get £36,95 a week but in France this we get £56. France is more expensive .

Migrants prefer to go in UK for Housing : asylum seekers get given accommodation in the UK if they need it, in France it’s the same but there are a long waiting lists.

Furthermore, they leave their country for Healthcare : in the UK, everyone can acess to A&E and GP surgeries and it’s free.

To finish, migrant want to go to UK for numbers : in 2014, the UK had the 5th number brevet asylum application in EU (Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, Uk).
