Internship Report-2018

This internship was unifying both in my personal development and in my openness to a culture that was totally unknown to me, and allowed me to refine my professional project in the long term, thanks to the advice of various professionals and the missions I met during this internship.

The executive in the company.

From May 07 to June 29, 2018, I was able to do a two-month professional internship as part of the first year of the BTS Commerce International.

My internship hours were from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday included.

In my company there was no dress code to impose, for men and women. Some days, my internship mistress would come with drilled jeans.

It is also necessary to know for hierarchy in Mexico, the Mexicans being friendly and family, this one remains little visible.

Indeed, our company organizes weekly meetings with all the company's employees. I have been to this one a few times. It generally focuses on the analysis of databases, and therefore of potential customers. They also had the advantage of targeting a specific clientele and in which sector.

The activities I was able to carry out during my time in the company:

The first week we made the commercial letters that were to be used for the mailing. We continued writing our letters in English for a week, once it was approved by Maribel Lares our tutor, we were able to focus on mass prospecting, in different themes around luxury.

The prospecting lasted two weeks before we could start the mailing After checking our databases, the director asked us to put a color code on our databases, 50% luxury, 100% luxury and finally a color for local companies. Maribel our internship mistress asked us to prospect only international companies and only in English even French companies.

An employee of the company created an email address for us: sales1@biglifemex.com, once it was created we were able to start the mailing. We then contacted all the companies by email.

We therefore had to create a follow-up database with positive and negative responses. For my part, I received a positive answer from a Belgian restaurant "Hof Van Clèves".

Our internship teacher also provided us with a car in order to follow up our customers. A list of the company's customers was given to us, our mission was to go to the places on the list (Restaurants, Hotels, Luxury Bars.) We took pictures of the magazines placed in these places. It was a question of seeing if customers display our magazine well, but also to post on social networks the photos of the magazines arranged in these most luxurious places of Playa Del Carmen.

Maribel Lares, our internship teacher, also asked us to find ideas for articles, so I proposed the theme of gastronomy, which was chosen for publication in the July magazine.

During the whole duration of my internship I stayed in the company's offices.

The Mexicans are known for their good atmosphere, Starkproduct is a very young company and the whole team is very friendly. That's why my internship went very well, the atmosphere within the company was very good.

We often ate together for lunch and sometimes even in the evening we organized meals.
