PLACES AND FORMS OF POWER

INTRO                Today, I will try to answer the question « What is the role of money in our society and in our lives? » Now, Money is coins or notes used as a way to pay for goods and services and to pay people for their work. Money makes the world go round because thanks to it we can make business. So, on the first part, I will talk about The Giving Pledge and Secondly I will talk about people who can have different opinions about the importance of money.

I        With money, we can make good action. As demonstrated by Bill Gates, this American business magnate, philanthropist, investor and computer programmer with his wife and Warren Buffet who is an American business magnate. They created The Giving Pledge in 2000 (two thousand) who is a commitment by the world’s wealthiest people to dedicate the majority of their wealth to philanthropy. In April 28 th, 2011 (twenty eleven), 69 (sixty nine) American Billionaires joined the Giving Pledge and promised to donate half their fortune to charities. Its goal is to bring to the world population innovations in health and knowledge acquisition. In 2006 (two thousand and six), Bill Gates decided to devote 95 % (ninety-five percent) of his fortune to the fight against illness and illiteracy in the countries of the South. Its foundation has already spent 9, 26 billion dollars, especially to vaccinate 55(fifty- five) million children.

II        But people can have different opinions about the importance of money. For Poor people for example money makes them dream as Ram Mohammad Thomas in the film Slumdog millionaire he lives in a poor district with no car, no real home, no present. And one day, he found work as a servant and, for the first time, he made real Money, He was extremely proud to have Money, and he found that this gave him respect from other people. Later, he became a tourist guide. Meeting with rich people changed his attitude to words money. He understood that, when you have everything, you have no desire: and that does no make you happy. Some people always want more money; they are not satisfied with money which they already have because for them, to have money is to have some power, situation evoked in the movie Wall Street.

CONCLUSION
Money has a central place in the world, money allows us to do good as the r evil around us. But this desire to have money and expensive things to show, pushes some to make and to buy forgery. Even if we need money to meet our needs, and for our pleasure. Other things exist to make us happy, as for example spending time with our family and sharing good times with them.
