I'm going to talk about the notion of Myths and heroes. First of all, I would like to give a definition of this notion. A myth is a story that may or may not be true, A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief a tradition... A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. It can be the main character in a book or a film, a person with superhuman qualities. It can also be a modern-day hero, a person who has performed a heroic act. What brings mths and heroes into our society?

I° The heroes of today's life in our society

Since the beginning of humanity, we have distinguished people by their qualities or action and these people are considered heroes in our society. First, we are going to talk about firefighters... A firefighter is a hero of our society because they help people who are in danger sometimes at the peril of their lives. This reminds us of the attacks of 9/11. In class, we studied a document about firefighters and their sacrifice on 9/11 and especially a fireman who died trying to save other people This man is Stephen Siller. In the document, his brother tells what his brother did during the attack. His brother told us that Stephan was a brave man, especially during the attack because he turned his truck toward the twin towers, but could get only as far as the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. It was blocked but that didn't stop him because he came to a screeching halt, go out calmly, put he hear gear on who weighs more than 60 pounds and started running through the tunnel. And that tunnel's nearly 2 miles long. Many firemen are never come back and died. So they are admired for their achievements, noble qualities and their courage. Their roles of rescuer give them the status of a hero. In society, they can also be an icon, a model for children, who wants to save people too. There are also people considered as a hero because of his donation. In class, we studied a short document about Warren Buffet, the third richest man in the world. He gave 99% of his fortune to philanthropic causes. Most of the money went to a foundation run by another rich man, Bill Gates. The foundation arms to fight poverty, disease and lack of education. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates can be considered has heroes who are part of a larger story, the American Dream. They are self-made men who started from scratch and made it to the top, and who set an example. They change people and change the actual society to make it better.

II° The place of Myths and heroes in society.

Depending on different religions cultures, the myths are different. Heroes allow to dream by the myths they represent. For example, in class, we studied a video about why the world needs superhero movies. We are currently living in the golden age of superhero movies. The heroes in these movies inspire people in all kinds of ways. For example, Captain America inspires people to be morally better. Spiderman makes people want to be there to their community. Superheroes give us the inspiration to do great things, especially on the young kids who watch these movies. Seeing your heroes on a giant screen has an extremely positive effect on young mind. On top of that, because of these movies, people are doing great thing around the world. Countless actors visit children's hospital in and out of costume, just so they can make the kids happy for a day. They go even further and raise massive money for charity. Superheroes stories can help create a bond between people, for example between parents and children or between fans of a superhero. Moreover, superheroes stories are more than simply children's stories. They can be read at various levels. When you look below the surface, we realise that these stories are about morality and various moral values such as loyalty, self-sacrifice, choosing between good and evil. These superheroes can serve as a model for a young mind or adults.
