Hello today i’m gona present you THE VENDEE GLOBE 2020/2021

The vendee globe is a single-handed race around the world on 60 foot boats names IMOCA. Some of the boats that compete in this race are equipped with foils, a thing that allows the boat to fly above the water ang go faster ! This race is the most known sailing competition in the world. Skippers from all around the world come and try their luck in this fabulous and terrible race. This race is not like any other in any sport… The main goal of every people that crosses the starting line is to finish the race… Because for this you need to cross every ocean do a complete world tour without any assistance so if you have any problem you have to solve it yourself or you have to abandon.

For this edition of the vendee globe, they were 33 skippers at the start including 6 women for the first time in history, now there is only 27 left because 6 of them had to abandon and in these 6 there were 2 huge favourites. The reasons on theses abandons are one of the major problems in this race : the “UFO” unidentified floating objects that boats hit’s while cruising. That causes damages to the boat and if they can’t repair by theme selves, they’re out.

The actual ranking is “Maitre coque” leading the fleet followed closely by Apivia and a little group of chasers. The firs women is Isabelle Josque at the 11th place a superb performance but sadly she’s just hit a UFO and will probably loose some places in the leader board…
