today, i'm going to study 3 texts in the section of myth and heroes. Firstly, i will define you what a hero is. in mythologie he is a person of superhuman qualities, who can realise outstanding achievements. in real life a hero is someone brave who cares about other. To me, people such as martin luther king or rosa parks are heroes. they are black person, they fought for black people rights' during the period of segregation in the united states of america. they are civil rights heroes. i will present you how they changed the curse of history through three documents. the first one is about rosa parks, the second one about the anniversary of civil rights march and the last one about malala yousafzai. We will see today how civil rights heroes changed white people vision's about black people in the united states and the limits of this progress.

the period that i'm going to study is a period of segregation against black people. in this period they had got no rights, they couldn't vote, they had difficulties in getting a mortgage. the events that i will talk about belong in this period.

the first document that i will present is an article from the guardian, a british newspaper written by julian borger and published on april the 4h of 2006. it deals with civil rights heroes. in 1955, in Montgomery in alabama, rosa parks was arrested because she was sitting in the bus, and she refused to give her sit to a white man. as a consequence, the civil rights movement was launched. she refused to pay her fine and she started working with martin luther king. this action is the one of a couragous hero who fight for a just aim, for her rights and rights of others too. she wanted to influence other black people, victim of racism to do the same. as a consequence, the montgomery bus boycott began, during one year for justice and desegragation. these events were justified when jim crow laws which were racist laws were abolished. when rosa parks died in october 2005, she was treated like a hero, her body lay in state in congress in washington which is an honour.
