Against gun in USA

Since the 15th Dec. 1791, americans have the right to bear arms : it’s thanks to the 2nd amendment, created by Georges Washington (the 1st president of the USA). It comes from the time when the US had just achieved independence and there was no real army to defend the country. On the one hand, we will see why Americans feel the need to own guns. Since then, a majority of the population and organizations such as the NRA have considered this as an inalienable right and have consequently been opposed to any kind of gun legislation.

Originally, guns were allowed to defend ourselves.However, the guns can fall into the wrong hands and be used by criminals or deranged people to shoot at random and cause horrendous bloodshed.

That’s how the debates started.

A part of the society is against this right for many reasons :

• Slaughters have affected many schools and cities, like recently the 18th May 2018 in Texas at Santa Fe : 10 victims and 13 wounded were registered.

• Every year, more than 11thousand people are killed by gunfire. We also notice that the sale of weapons has increased by 70% since 2011

• As well, armed teenagers, who aren’t mentally stable, has attacked many schools in the USA
