Queen Victoria is a heroine for the people in England during the time she reined. People think this because she was very kind and understanding towards the people and their needs. She shows this through many ways such as talking to the people and helping them to solve their problems. She had to become a queen at age eighteen and married at twenty-one and showed caring by visiting the wounded soldiers during the Crimean war.

Victoria had a lot of obstacles when she was young and also throughout her life! Her father died when she was very young, then years later her uncle, the king, died. Also she had to sleep with her mother every night! Her mother would not let her be without another person like Lehzen her tutor and maid. During her lessons her mother, the Duchess of Kent, would be there with some members from parliament watching how her studies were coming along. This is usually where her mother would criticize Victoria. Also when Victoria was married to her cousin, Albert, she soon found out she could not keep him out of the business and affairs of the country. She thought she couldn’t make a decision without his consent! (Which is not true.)

Queen Victoria had a very hard child hood. Victoria’s father was the Duke of Kent and the fourth son of King George III of England. Her mother the Duchess of Kent was actually a German princess of the Saxe-Coburg family. When Victoria’s mother became pregnant with Victoria her father moved the family back to England from Germany and expected that Victoria would someday be the queen of England. He expected her to act the way a queen should. After Victoria’s Father died, her mother became very protective of Victoria, and Victoria’s mother was also very strict and was always criticizing Victoria.

Three of Queen Victoria’s better character traits are that she is kind, she always acted like a queen should and she was proud. She was kind because during the Crimean war she actually visited the troops on the battlefield and when they came home wounded she pinned a medal on them and shook their hands herself. Queens don’t usually touch other people. Another one is that she acts like a queen should by standing and sitting strait and is serious when she needs to be. She is also very proud at times like when she watches the soldiers go off to war and when her husband made the Great Exhibition happen.

Queen Victoria has made many contributions in her life like when she goes to visit her people she would give petticoats to the women in the cottages that she visited. She built schoolhouses for the poor children so that they can go to school. She signed pardons for the criminals so they could celebrate her Golden Jubilee. She also founded the Queen’s Jubilee nursing institute. Queen Alexandria Victoria died on January 22 1901 at the age of 82 and was still loved by her people.

In conclusion, people still think today that Queen Victoria was one of the most interesting people in the world. She is also one of the most kind and thoughtful people. She always loved surprises and loved her family just like other people.
