INTRODUCTION :

CNET NEWS is a tech media website that publishes news, articles, blogs, and podcasts on technology and consumer electronics. a website specialized on IT Technology News and this article was published in April 2012.

It deals with the attacks of a group of hackers widely known as “the anonymous” against the Chinese and English governments.

First of all, we will present you the « anonymous » group, its aim, its actions, then we will see if its actions is an efficient way to protest and finally we will discuss if its actions are morally ethically acceptable.

Part 1: PRESENTATION OF THE “Anonymous”:

Anonymous is described as a “hacker collective” and it’s composed with people who hack for a similar purpose. This collective hack into computer systems without permission and take data such as communications records, names, addresses, phone numbers, and credit cards. According to them, their actions are all in a good cause. They affirm to defend moral values like Liberty, Equality, and Solidarity…. Hacking attacks by Anonymous are generally organized by a small number of people and when they appear on the Media or in demonstration, they all wearing the same mask and have no identity. This organization is very well-structured and keep their identity secretly with efficacy during demonstration because every member of the group only know free members of the group so that if they are catch by the police, they can not denunciate the others.
