                  Italian's immigration to USA

Main reasons:

In late the 19th century, the Italy was confronted to Economic problems. Life in the country side was difficult.  

The unemployment was growing up because of the machines arrival so as the population did. The farmers, living in poverty had one solution: Go somewhere else.

The American dream became the hope of many Italians.

Immigration:

-Life on board was difficult, It was not hygienic the passengers couldn't take a shower and they were piled up in a small place.

-As soon as they reached the American coast, they've first had to go to Ellie's Island. There, they had to fill some papers for identifications and complete medical checkups.

-Once the entry was authorized, the Italians had to find a job to earn money.

-The Italians didn't know any English word that's why they stayed with other Italian immigrants.

In this way, they made an Italian community and decided to live together that's how Little Italy was born: A small district in New York.

The Italian Immigration was important and massive because more than 10 millions of Italians from 1870 to 1914 came to the USA.

Nowadays: 

The United States are a cultural melting pot and Italians brought their flavor. At first, they brought Italian  recipes such as pasta or even pizza which is the most common meal in America.

But Italians are also considered as responsible of the increased criminality in USA because of the Mafia. That's why the Italians were for a long time victims of the xenophobia.

Now, the Italians are completely integrated to the American civilization.
