RENTING A CAR

You: Hello, sir. We’ve booked a car online, it is a ____________________(type of car).

Attendant: Sure. What’s your name, please?

You: It’s _________________________________

Attendant: Ok. Do you have a reservation code?

You: Yes. It’s _________________________.

Attendant: Good. I’ve found your reservation. Let me check to see what cars we have available in this category. 

Well, we have a    VW Jetta    available at the moment. It’s automatic, it has air conditioning and a big trunk.

You: Can we see the car, please?

Attendant: Absolutely. It's right out there in the parking lot. It’s the gray car over there next to the sidewalk.

You: Ok, it’s fine, we’ll take that one.

Attendant: So, you’ll return the car in Los Angeles, is that correct?

You: Yes, that’s it.

Attendant: How many days would it be? I mean, when are you returning it?

You: We’ll return it on the 27th.

Attendant: Ok. So that’ll be 3 daily rates. Can I see your driver's license, please?

You: There you go. 

Attendant: Thank you. We must fill out a registration, all right?

You: Ok, no problem.

Attendant: What’s your address, please?

You: My address in Brazil?

Attendant: Yes, your address in Brazil.

You: It’s__________________________________________. The city is ___________, state of __________________, Brazil.

Attendant: What’s your phone number?

You: It’s _______________________________

Attendant: Do you have another number?

You: Yes, can be my _________________. It’s ______________________________________

Attendant: Great. So, your ______________________ will drive the car too, alright?

You: Yes, that’s right, (s)he’s the additional driver.

Attendant: That’s perfect.

You: Can I ask you a question? Could you install a child car seat in the car? It’s for my 2-year-old daughter.

Attendant: Definitely. We sure can. That’ll cost an extra U$ 5 a day, is that OK?

You: Alright, no problem. Thank you. One more question, just to confirm. The cars have unlimited miles, right?

Attendant: Yes, but of course, that doesn't include gas.

You: OK. By the way, is the tank full?  And should we return it with the tank full?

Attendant: Yes, it is full and you should return it this way.

You: Alright, I got it. Does the car have spare tires?

Attendant: Yes, ma’am, absolutely. The car has been completely revised and it is being delivered in perfect conditions of use.

You: Hopefully. Anyway, we’ll inspect it, ok? Ah, and insurance is included in our contract, right? Does the insurance covers everything? 

Attendant: Yes, it is included and it covers damage to the vehicle, injury or loss of life to you and to the passengers. It even includes incidental road damage and the loss of property due to theft.
