Hello, I'm Terry williams. I am 24 years old and I spent my internship at DeCODE Genetics. She is based in Reykjavik, Iceland. The company applies its genetic discoveries to the creation of drugs. She has succeeded in isolating genes responsible for diseases such as certain schizophrenias or cancers.

At the end of my license please, I wanted to benefit from the erasmus plan to carry out my last internship abroad. Iceland is my dream country, its capital is Reykjavik.

This internship allowed me to acquire more experience in the field of e-health. It allowed me to think differently and apply what I have learned over the past few years. Because theory is different from practice.

The employees of this company were very welcoming. To give me confidence, my tutor introduced me to the whole team of the company as if I was part of the company when I was only an intern. After two days, I had already been given a project.

Iceland is not very large in area but it concentrates a diversity of landscapes unique in the world. Its volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, lava fields and glaciers are an example of this diversity. That’s why Iceland is nicknamed the land of fire and ice. What I liked the most was the hikes I did in the wilderness and the visit of the blue lagoon which is a really fascinating place with its natural thermal springs.

I suggest that you do any internship in Iceland but on the condition that you are not chilly and that you do not see the sun rise half of the year.
