Final Task
Goodmorning and welcome to the “Marie’s show”. Today we have the pleasure of meeting three surprise guests: Salomé, a specialist in the Suffragettes; Eva, a specialist in the Suffragists; and Océane Pankhurst, the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst.

So we are here to inaugurate the International Women’s Day. And to start, I think many people in the audience are wondering what the difference is between Suffragists and Suffragettes. Could you clarify this for us?
eva explique suffragist
salomé explique suffragette
Alright, thank you for these explanations
This leads me to another question...So Océane, could you tell us how you feel about what your great-grandmother experienced?
océane répond / musique triste
It’s really inspiring to hear about her bravery—thank you so much for sharing. If it’s not too hard, could you tell us a little more?
océane raconte histoire et sa mort
That’s a powerful story, thank you for opening up about this. It’s both moving and inspiring to see how her courage has left such a strong impression on you.
Now, I’d like to ask the other guest to explain what their job consists of. So Eva, would you mind telling us a bit more about this?
eva explique le travail des historiens
Oh, that’s really fascinating.
Speaking of that, Salomé could you tell us how you justify the radical methods that the Suffragettes used?
salomé repond
Okay thanks you, yes, it's true that their actions were violent but necessary.
Back to you, Océane, many people are wondering what it means to you to carry this name and heritage as the great-granddaughter of the famous Emmeline Pankhurst.
océane repond
It sounds like her experiences had a strong impact on you.Thank you for sharing that, Océane. It’s really moving to hear your perspective.
We can feel a lot of pride in your words. Is it ever a burden to be her great-granddaughter?
Océane repond
We appreciate you opening up about this. It shows how meaningful—and sometimes demanding—this heritage can be.
Now I’d like to go back to Eva. You’ve described the peaceful methods, but in your opinion, would the Suffragists have achieved their goals without the Suffragettes?
eva repond
It sounds like both strategies were essential for their success.
Following on from that, Salomé, you mentioned the violence they faced. In your view, how did the Suffragettes find the courage to keep fighting?
salomé répond.
I will always be inspired by their courage.
As we come to the end of the talk show, here’s a question for each of you: if you were a woman a hundred years ago, which camp would you have supported?
eva commence
oceane
salomé
Personally, I think I would have been a Suffragist. I would never have had the courage and the determination of the Suffragettes.
Thanks for watching The Marie’s Show. See you soon for a new topic with other guests!
