Gender equality

Today I’m here to talk about gender equality.

To write this speach I ask myself what’s gender equality represent for me ? And I arrived to this : for me gender equality is not just a battle, this is the model on which all societies should operate. It’s a fundamental birth right to put all human being on an equal footing. I do not see why some people, especially men, have a divine right who comes from who knows where to be superior to others because they are born with certain attributes.

Why gender equality is not a reality in our society and all around the world ? Why a gender should be superior ? There is absolutly no reasons.

For exemple in the workplace, the salary difference between a man and a woman is 24 % for exactly the same job and the same work while it is statistically proven that women are more productive than men. Women are less likely to hold gainful positions like managerial or higher professional positions because of the discriminatory behavior against them.

Futhermore, gender equality is good for companies in general. That is prove that the more gender-equal companies are better for the workers, there is a happier labor force, they have lower job turnover, they have an easier time recruiting, a higher job satisfaction and a higher rates of productivity.

Gender equality is also good for countries. It turns out, according to most studies, that those countries that are the most gender equal are also the countries that score highest on the happiness scale. Gender equality is good for people.

Many men are trying to discredit those who fight for gender equality. We will call them dinosaurs because their point of view dates from prehistory or is medieval. They advance completely incoherent arguments and justify this inequality by their physical surperiority. Those dinosaurs try to manipulate women into believing that they have no rights to claim equality because their status in society has already evolved a lot in the last centuries so they should be happy and happy with it. But the reality is that they are afraid of women, and honestly I understand, but what the dinosaurs didn’t understand is that no woman or man who fights against gender inequality wants women to become superior. It’s a battle to get justice and parity in all areas, at work, at home , on the street, in sports, on TV, everywhere.

To finish, I will just say that gender equality is a win-win for everybody, and that even if some dinosaurs try to prevent access to equality for everyone, we are stronger than them. But the gender equality is far from being acquired that is why we have to fight for our rights, for equality, parity and justice because nobody will do it for us.
