I am going to talk about the notion locations and forms of power .

First of all i would like to give a definiton about power , it's a person , group or nation having great influence or control over others .

To illustrate this notion I have chosen to speak about recent U.S. elections and then the power of the media during the campaign

First ,We studied in class the last US election which took place on November 6th, 2012. Both candidates who opposed were Barak Obama and Mitt Romney

Barack Obama is a democrat and M.R is a republican , so they have different platforms B.O. wants to help the economy by investing money in education and companies that bring jobs unlike M.R intends of encouraging business . Moreover BO agrees with abortion while MR is opposed to it . At last B.O wants to continue to cut down on military costs in Iraq and Afghanistan unlike M.R wants to maintain a military presence .

In spite of the tight results, it is Barak Obama who is reelected for 4 years .

Then ,During the presidential campaign, the media play an important role in promoting the candidates. Many posters are pasted into the street, every president programs are distributed in the streets ... The presidents give speeches in a city. they are invited on TV for debate. The Radios ask citizens to what side they are and why. It is a way to influence others.

But social networks and internet haves also played a role in the campaign .

During the presidential campaign candidates to better exploit the Internet and social networks to promote their ideas and get closer to the voters.

We can see money is a form of power because despite the economic crisis in the U.S., the 2012 campaign has cost more than $ 6 billion, 1 billion just for BO .

In class we saw a video of NPR in colorado during presidential campaigns. In this video the reporter says that Colorado Springs is important during the presidential election because it is in the top 10 market for communication during the presidential elections.

And the journalist tries to find out the impact of the millions dollards spent on ads on the community and voter

In conclusion, we can say that the political power function necessarily with two other important powers, the power of the media show as the fourth power and the power of money
