REACTION PAPER – A SOUND OF THUNDER

A Sound of Thunder is a science fiction short story that has the time travel as the main theme, written by Ray Bradbury, a notorious American writer whom is famous for other works like the discussed Fahrenheit 451. He used to focalize his stories on real social issues: the danger of the politic, the human and the environment.
This short story is published in a magazine in 1952, after that, it is placed in a Bradbury’s collection in 1953, named The Golden Apples of the Sun.
A Sound of Thunder is often credited to be the basis for the term “The Butterfly Effect”, but the phrase originated with meteorologist Edward, and it helps to explain that we can’t precisely predict the effects of a specific act.
This was the introduction of the reaction paper, from here we’ll see first of all the summary, and then the personal reaction.

The genre of the story is science fiction, we can understand that from the beginning whit the iconic sign on the wall “TIME SAFARI, INC. SAFARIS TO ANY YEAR IN THE PAST. YOU NAME THE ANIMAL. WE TAKE YOU THERE. YOU SHOOT IT” (p.1), so the principal theme in time traveling. The ton of the story telling is serious at the beginning, but more we advance and more the ton become mysterious and gloomy.  
The short story tells about a company that allows: time traveling to hunters and free shooting at animals that no long exist, just for amusement, but whit out change the history. There are three hunters ( Eckles, Billings and Kramer) and a Safari Guide (Travis) whit his assistant (Lesperance).
After the time travel, Eckles understand that his present has changed because he stamped a butterfly, which means that an action in the past causes troubles in the future.
In second place, I will talk about my reaction, and I will, sort of, make an analysis.
