South Africa is situated in the southermost of african continent. Its official name is: Republic of South Africa.

Henri the navigator, Prince of portugal was the initiator of the first forwardings around Africa which began in 1434 .Often called the"Rainbow Nation" with a flag with six colors, the Republic of South Africa covers 1 219 090 sq km , that is to say twice and half France.

South Africa has three major geographical regions: plates, mountains and the coast belt.

The lanscape is attractive for tourism with Drakensberg, the Kalahari Desert, the Namib DesertnLarge Karoo and th Small Karoo, the Montain of tthe Table and the Cape of Good Hope

.There are also Nature Parks where tourists can participe to safari photos where they can see elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, hippopotames

In the 1960s , apartheid is reinforced with the creation of Bantustans : ten small areas totaling 13 % of the area of South Africa and reserved for blacks . Through this policy, the Whites, who represent 18-20 % of the population , maintain and strengthen their domination over the majority of the area and resources of South Africa.

Constantly reformed in 1966 , the last apartheid laws were abolished in June 1991 by the new president FW De Klerk who engages in constitutional negotiations with former enemies : legalization of banned parties , release of political prisoners , reintegration of Bantustans , adoption of a new constitution , a fusion of the South African anthem Die Stem with singing release Nkosi Sikelel ' iAfrika , adopting a new national flag

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born 18 July 1918 in South Africa , Rolihlahla called in his native tongue , Xhosa ( which means " troublemaker " !) , He attended elementary school in Qunu , where his teacher Miss Mdingane gave him the name of Nelson , in accordance with the custom of giving all children of school names "Christian" and English. The name Madiba is the name of his clan ( royal family) and it is a mark of respect for that name.
