How Acidification Affects Ocean Life Over Time

Figure 1: The significance of this data is that life in the ocean is highly impacted by acidification. In this case, the acidification is being shown through the gain/loss of weight over time.

Conclusion: The table and the graph both show the intensity of how acidification affects ocean life over time. The experiment showed that each shell either decreased or increased in weight when put into water for a certain amount of time. After 10 minutes, shell 1 increased by .7 and shell 2 decreased by .57. After a long amount of time, weight will be either gained or loss in an incredibly large scale.

Error: A random systematic error we made was stopping the watch five second late on some of the shell dipping.

Figure 2: This image can be described as a coccolithophore. It has a magnification of approximately 12x and has 5 micro-organisms inside the shield/body. Its role in climate change is that they become more of a carbon sink due to high ocean acidification. The temperature of the ocean is sea-surface temperature.
