I am going to talk about the notion of idea of progress. First of all i would like to give a quick definition of that notion. The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change. This notion of progress is also a tecnical scientific or social advance which contribute to making the wordl better place. A progress can't be always positive it can be negative too.

Today some people believe that getting ride of technologies is a sort of progress a progress they find necessary because they think that the world is ruined by all these devices wich create a lot of pollution.

In class we studiyed a several document about technology and tech less world.

So we may answer this question: How does modern technology affect today’s society?

Here we shall be interested at the life of amish teenagers and back to the roots of civilisation.

The first document show us the amish culture. This culture is simple this community don't use electricity, phones, computers or cars...

From 16 to 20 years of age male of female are relesead from their obligation to follow amish customs.

Formal education for the amish ends after eights grade. At that point teenagers leave school so boys can assist with family farms and girls can work on family shop and learn to keep house for when they are married.

When Amish teens turn 16 they enter Rumspringa and there are relesead from all amish expectations. 85 percent of all amish choose to join amish chruch for life and if however the teenager chooses to turn away from amish obligations an go out with cars and cell phones that teenager is shunned for life from the community.

The second document is back to the roots of civilisation, it was interesting in knowing if it is possible to be indipendent of modern technology The protagonist, Gene Rosellini, embarked on the challenge of living in prehistoric times. This challenge was the life project, and he lived thus in the form of ten years, making digital essences, building his shelter, living resources of nature and life animated intense physical exercises. At the end of this experience, he wrote to a friend that the reality of the experience on the foot of the wall, and that the human being as we know him today do live live like this. At the end he

learned that it is not possible for human beings as we know them to live off the land like to eat whatever food you can grow, kill or find yourself.

To conclude,personally i can't live without technology because we was born with tecnology and the confort of life. Today all people need a car, electricity, modern devices to cook or technologies at the factories to produce more and fast. I think that a lot of persons chose the modern life today.
