My subject is about the famous and mysterious Jack the Ripper. Everyone knows this great Londoner criminal, but no one knows his true identity.

  • Jack the Ripper is one of the most iconic murderers in history. Why ? Because he committed 6 crimes in the nineteenth century and his identity remains unknown today. He was a serial killer who raged in the London district of Whitechapel in 1888.

It was mentioned in newspapers at the time because the author affirmed her murders and signed "Jack the Ripper". The police and newspapers received numerous letters related to the case.

  • The crimes took place mostly in public or semi-public places, sidewalks or courtyards. The reason is that, at the time, acts of prostitution did not take place in the hotel or in the private apartments, but during the night in a courtyard or in a private passage between two buildings, or even at the end of a dead end.
  • The last mutilated body of Mary Jane Kelly was discovered on Friday, November 9, 1888. The throat had been severed to the spine and the abdomen almost completely eviscerated. The heart had been removed.

  • These five murders were executed at night. No organ was missing in Nichols's corps; the uterus of Chapman was removed; the uterus and a kidney were missing in Eddowes' body, his face was mutilated; Kelly's body was eviscerated and her face severely slashed, but only her heart was missing.

  • For the anecdote, when I went to London I was able to take a walk in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper and the guide told us that Jack the Ripper was really very intelligent.

Yes very smart, because at the time, there were policemen by districts but who could not go to other district than theirs.

Jack the ripper alternated districts to avoid being caught par les policemen.
