INTRODUCTION :

We will introduce the company Yves Rocher, but before, let me introduce my teamates: Lisa, Léa and Manon.

So let’s start with a short presentation of the group.

The Rocher group is a French family group founded in 1959 by Yves Rocher. The company was founded in Bretagne in the Morbihan region and remains implanted in this region. This group built, in the course of decades, a wide range of offer around several brands. The Rocher Group is present on the market of cosmetics, house maintenance and clothing.

Yves Rocher is a specialist of the marketing of natural products. The brand favors organic farming and opts for an eco-citizen approach. The company sells beauty products (such as make-up, fragrances, hair care, facial and body care) for women and men.

Yves Rocher is present in France, and has also developed internationally since the 1970s.

I/ ACTIVITIES:

Yves Rocher produces and sells beauty products. It sells care (body, face and hair), make-up, perfume, and bath products

The Yves Rocher Company produces their products itself in different sites of production in France. It has a botanical garden named La Gacilly with more than a thousand plant species, where specialists study plants and can extract the best of them.

Then, Yves Rocher sell its products in 680 (six hundred eighty) point of sale in France, but also abroad in 80 (eighty) countries with a network of 4000 (four thousand) boutiques.

Moreover, the specificity of the company is that we can find a beauty institute in each of its stores with qualified beauticians.

To build customer loyalty, Yves Rocher offers a loyalty card allowing many customer benefits such as exclusive discounts, invitations or gifts. It is a simple bar-coded card which allows each store to know the purchasing history of each customer. This card is valid in the 680 beauty centers Yves Rocher in France. Customers accumulate points during 12 months, and then, they can choose one of the gifts offered by the company.

Since 2004, Yves Rocher accelerates the reduction of his dependence in plastics and other packagings with a program named 3R: reduce, recycle, reuse.

The elimination of the notices allows to save nine tons of paper a year, whereas the development of eco-refills represents 78 % in less of plastic. These solutions in favour of the environment are also an opportunity for savings.

II/ AN ETHICAL COMPANY:

What means an ethical company?

Ethics represent the values and moral rules of an organization. An ethical business poster a real responsability towards society, that is to say on the social, environmental and financial plan.

A company is selected and juged as being ethical by banks or management companies thanks to a committee of experts.

This is the case of Yves Rocher which is an environmentally friendly company and very involved in sustainable development. Indeed, preserving biodiversity is an approach anchored in their culture and deeds for more than 50 years. They master all their trades of their activity, allowing them to control and reduce their environmental impact at all stages of the life cycle of their products.

They select raw materials of vegetable origin such as waces, oils, butters and resins, and they use cultivated plants or renewable parts of plants.

Yves Rocher has a strong commitment since 1980 to not make any animal tests, which earned them the Gold Medal of the Society for the Protection of Animals.
