He was born the 25th september 1951 in Oakland, in California. He has a wife named Marilou York and 3 childrens : Nathan, Chelsea and Griffin. He's American. He studied drama before gaining his first roles on television. He spoted by George Lucas because he wanted youngs unknow actors on the casting of Star Wars. Mark Hamill became a star in 1977 with his part of Luke Skywalker.

In his carrer, he received 5 reward : - In 1978 : Showest Award of the male star of tomorrow

for Star Wars IV.

- In 1981 : Saturn Award of the best actor fot Star Wars V.

- In 1984 : Saturn Award of the best actor fot Star Wars VI.

- In 2010 : Interactive Achievement of the best acting of character game for Batman : Arkham Asylum.

-In 2012 : BAFTA Award of the best acting in a video games for Batman : Akham City.

He played in 35 films in 40 years and in 52 TV series in 45 years.

The trick that made him know is Star Wars IV : A new hope.

It was released in France on October 19, 1977 and in the USA on May 25, 1977. The DVD came out 30 years later. It was realized by George Lucas. It last 121 min.

This film cost 11,5 million US $ but he reported 530 million US $. In september 1978, it became the most reported film in North America by beating the previous record of 260 million US $ held since 1975 by the film The Teeth of the Sea by Steven Spielberg. A new hope wins seven Oscars out of eleven nominations. Georges Lucas revolutionized the cinema thanks to it's summary of beginning of film and it's "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ...."

The principals actors are : Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and David Prowse (Darth Vader).
