A Women’s Place

Write a paragraph about a current phenomenon you want to denounce.

I chose among the many current phenomenon of our world to talk about the place of women in the world and to denounce the inequalities they suffer every day.  Because we know the place women occupy in France. We also kwon equality between men and women is not complete and comprehensive. But there are too many places around the world where it’s so much worse! Therefore, I will denounce and reveal the huge inequalities that can exist in the entire world.

First of all, everybody should and must enjoy the same rights. Nevertheless, in Saudi Arabia, Saudi women are not allowed to drive! Words can’t explain how much awful and unfair it is! They are risking prison if they try to use a car. It’s incredible! The also can’t travel without an authorization of their « legal guardian » who could only be, by the way a man like a brother, a father or a husband. The authorities are using technology to track them and be alerted if one of them cross borders. How a country can evolve technologically and not be at all socially? In addition, Saudi women don’t have the right to mix with men. To prevent both sexes from coming together, shop which employing men and women are forced to erect separation walls of least 1.60 meters. The horrific fact is that over twelve billion of Saudi women live in these conditions, and we are only talking about the women of Saudi Arabia…

Secondly, everybody should decide what they want to do and how they want to be. But, in some countries, women exist only through social status. For example, in India women can only be a sister, a mother or a wife. Beside, wedding is one of the essential points of the conception of existence that an Indian women can have, affecting at the same time their individual freedom.  On the top of that, despite the prohibition of the wedding of minors from 1860 more than 40% of the wedding of minors take place in India. It’s not loving marriages but marriages of interest. The girls don’t have a choice. It’s terrible! They are just like an object or a merchandise. Even in our countries. For instance, plastic contest are include. Put women in competition not on intellectual criteria or merits, but on purely physical criteria. « In Miss France, we choose women as we shop at the supermarket! » quips Eleonore Stévenin (feminist activist).

Fortunately loads of feminist people have done so much good things, among them there are Simone Veil, George Sand… we can thanks them for what they did. But to conclude, we can observe that there has been done a lot of progress but here is lots to do left if we want a perfect equality between both sexes. So let’s join together to fight against these inequalities!
