Introduction of the artist

Robert Nesta Marley, later called Marley was born on February 6th, 1945 in Yalta, Jamaica. His mother is Jamaican and his father is English.

Bob has one sister, Constance Marley.

A few years after his birth, bob’s father left then family and Bob saw him only a few times during all his life.

How he began in the music

In 1957, with his mother, they moved to Kingston for a new start.

They lived in a chanty town where they were confronted with poverty and suffering. Bob met then Peter Tosch and began his musican’s career.

His first album with the Wailers was I the ska style. After this, he created the Reggae.

Life of the artist

10 years later with the album “Revolution” Bob the spokesman of the deprived and the oppressed. Representative of the”Third World”, he created then the association “One Love” .

His fight

In 1976 2 days before the concert he escaped an attack: 2 armed men infiltrated his home and opened the fire. Like a hero, he appreared on the stage. After this, he spent his time to prepare the album “Exodus”.

His wound

In 1977, during his heur in Paris he hunted his foot by playing soccer. His wound didn’t heal and he discovered that he had a skin cancer.

The end of his life.

Tired, Bob began to make look much thinner. He made an attack during his jogging and the next day, he held his last concert Pittsburgh.

After this, the rest of its tours have been cancelled, his state of health dedined faster and faster and he died on May 11th 1981 in Miami while he joined Jamaica.
