I'm going to talk about the notion " Spaces and exchanges". I going to give a definition of the notion. Exchanges an act receving something else in return. It can also be seen as a a continvous mouvement or circulation. There are different kinds of exchanges: media, trade and people in our case.
I have chosen to ask the question " Is the American Dream still alive ? ". To answers this, I will speak about USA which seems to be the land of hope and opportunity. Then I would talk about reality and disillusion.
The USA seems to be the land of hope and opportunity, indeed, many people think of the American dream. The American dream is rooted in the Declaration of Independence, which proclaims that "all men are created equal" with the right to " Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". The document "what do you know about the waves of immigration ? " talks about immigrants they leave their country for find work and to escape starvation, war, religious persecution, they will take refuge in the United States because they believe in the American dream. In the document "Sinaloa Cowboys" it a song. We will see what they look for in the USA, indeed the document speak about two Mexicans brothers. They decided to cross the border to flee poverty and find a work in the USA for better economic situation and better future prespects.
We will now talk about the reality and the disillusion, indeed living condition is illégal and dangerous as in the document " the Sinaloa cowboys" because this document tells us that two Mexicans they worked in the orchards of the San Joaquin but their working conditions were very hard and dangerous and the salaries is low. We can also see that the attitude of the Americans towards the unmigrated are sometimes hard as the document shows us "American attitude towards inmigration" indeed the document it's the two cartoons. The first cartoon it is the scene takes place at the Mexican American border. Uncle Sam, representing the US is building a barrier between the 2 countries. Uncle Sam is whispering to the Mexicans on the other side of the wale that he will pay them cash if they help him. The last picture, we can see 5 Mexicans doings jobs that the Americans don't wqant to do and we can see Uncle sam giving a paper to a policeman: a paper which says that they have to stop inmigration in the USA. These documents show us America's attitude towards inmigration. Americans officially say they need them for the well being of the USA because inmigrants to the jobs that Americans don't want to do.
To conclude the American Dream is still alive some because some people successfully accomplished their lives and realize their dream but I think that the American dream is not as good as it pretends to be. Some Americans take advantage of immigrants who are fleeing their countries and looking for work to exploit them or do the hardest job.
