WikiLeaks doesn't work as a wiki page, it's a site where pages are editable by a majority of site visitors. Indeed, we can also ask ourselves about the legitimacy and fiability of this website. WikiLeaks is a resource and analysis site in a political and societal point of view and it is known for leaking information. But at what cost ? The site discloses, anonymously, not identifiable and secure, documents testifying to a societal and political, even military, reality that is hidden from us. Site security is enhanced by the use of advanced cryptographic technologies.

Since its creation, the Wikileaks site has published sensitive documents, even classified as secret defense, which earned it the wrath of the American authorities.

At first, WikiLeaks is a good thing because it allows us to know more about the world between us, for example the way in which the United States manages diplomacy in the world. It's informative and it's nothing harmful. But, there should be a filtering of documents regarding the confidentiality issue. For the US Government, it's certainly a bad thing as it shows their cards. And for governments generally, there's potential to be opportunistic (including the US, as unspoken truths now can get public awareness). But there is no one answer to this question, because it all depends on who is asking and what the context of harm and good is. Let us remember that it is a question of morality and morality is relative to everyone. But, in my opinion, this website is a good thing. Wikileaks created a very hard to censor, alternative media channel that's powerful enough to take attention and change what everybody is forced to believe. No government will like this but I think it's a necessary next step for global democracy. Who would not want to know the truth if we had the opportunity to know it? No one, I think. It shows the truth behind the lies told by governments.

But what proves to us that this one is completely reliable and based on real facts and not created from scratch? We can not know. However, we can take into account the information disclosed with sufficient hindsight without necessarily believing in it.
