Her important suggestions and advices were priceless for me to tidy all my different ideas in my brain. Thank you miss, for your valuable time, expert advices, and generous encouragement which gave me the strengh to set this work possible as it is till the end.

Then, I would like to thank my classmates for their participation and their relevant questions, which helped me to understand more easily the principal purpose of this exercice. Introduction

First of all, Social media is an internet-based form of communication.

When we look at social media, we define it as: “Online media tools and channels that foster communication and conversation, not only delivering content but also allowing interaction and participation in the development of the content being discussed.”

Social media platforms allow users to have conversations, share information and create web content. There are many forms of social media as we know, including blogs, micro-blogs, wikis, social networking sites, photo-sharing sites, instant messaging, video-sharing sites, podcasts, virtual worlds, and more.

Today, out of 7.6 billion people in the world, more than 4.5 billion people are using the internet at the start of 2020 (60%) and Active social media users have passed the 3.8 billion mark with this number increasing by more than 9 percent (321 million new users) since this time last year. (See Appendix 1)

Nearly 60 percent of the world’s population is already online, and trends suggest that more than half of the world’s total population will use social media by the middle of this year. (Data Reportal, 2020)

However, the reason I choose this subject is because I want to show the unintended consequences Social Media is having on our mental health.

For example, being socially connected to others can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, increase self-worth, provide comfort and happiness, prevent loneliness, and even increase lifespan. On the other hand, the lack of a strong social relationship can seriously threaten your mental and emotional health.

Ironically, for a technology designed to make people more united, spending excessive time interacting with social media can actually make you feel more isolated and alone.

This subject is particularly interesting for me to cover, as human beings are social creatures and with the rise of new technologies and the increasing use of social networks, it is important to know the benefits but above all the limits of using social networks.

This memoire will be structured in different parts. We will first talk about why this subject is relevant to study, then we will have a look to previous research done on this subject or on subjects like to ours. After stating the hypothesis, we will state the methodology used to talk about the subject. Finally, we will conclude this paper and open up on the future of new technologies but especially social media.

Research proposal

A. The research problem to be studied

• What is the nature and scope of the problem?

There the nature of my subject is life after death and the scope is about every type of living individual, who can be touched by death or thinks which could be related to it.

• Why is it problematic?

It is problematic, because for us human being death is the only question that we have not been able to answer, despite our extraordinary evolution through time no one has yet found a real answer or explanation to describe this phenomenon. Nowadays, thanks to the progress of medicine, we are able to heal and delay as much as possible this sad end but despite this we remain totally in the unknown face to this question of death.

• Why is it significance?

It’s significant because, from the beginning we consider death as an ending of our lives, and we would like to see beyond the unknown. That’s why individuals try to find a purpose for their life by serving others. However, when doing so, they should not expect something in return ; and their intention should be to lessen other people’s misery. This is the signifiance of my problematic for religion individual believers.

• To whom is it significant, and why?

It is significant to believers and non-believers people because everybody can be touch or hit by death or can suffer of the death of someone. Believers, for whom death marks the passage to a new dimension,
