Quand exprimer le futur avec be going to ?

1. Pour marquer une intention.

→Michael is going to retire before he is 65-years-old.

→Michael a l’intention de prendre sa retraite avant ses 65 ans.

→He is not going to work until full retirement age.

→Il n’a pas l’intention de travailler jusqu’à l’âge de la retraite.

→Is he going to take early retirement, then?

→A-t-il, alors, l’intention de prendre une retraite anticipée ?

2. Pour exprimer un futur proche.

→It is 10 am. John’s plane is at 10.30. It takes an hour to get to the airport. John is going
to miss his plane.

→Il est 10 heures. L’avion de John est à 10 h 30. On met une heure pour aller à l’aéroport.John va manquer son avion.

Pour évoquer un futur imminent, vous pouvez aussi utiliser be about to + verbe (« s’apprêter
à faire quelque chose »).

→He is about to go and pick up visitor from the station.

→Il s’apprête à aller chercher le visiteur à la gare.

Comment construire le futur avec be going to ?

Verbe : MAKE

1. Forme affirmative longue :

I am going to make

He / she / it is going to make

You / we / they are going to make

2. Forme affirmative courte :

I ’m going to make

He / she / it ’s going to make

You / we / they ’re going to make

3. Forme négative longue :

I am not going to make

He / she / it is not going to make

4. Forme négative courte :
