Geography

        Australia is situated between the pacific and the Indian Ocean. It’s a big country and it’s known as the biggest island in the world. Australia count 25 millions people in 2018 which is not a lot compared to France with 67 millions. The area is about 7.7 million square kilometres. The capitale city is Canberra even if many of us think that is Sidney. Many lands are uninhabited , actually it’s the biggest uninhabited ontinent in the world mainly because of its climate and its poor fertile soil. It has stunning landscapes like deserts and tropical forests where we can find lots of kangaroos. Never the less, Australia is a highly developed country with a high economy. It’s part of the tenth-highest per capita income. It has its own money which is the Australian dollar. Now let’s talk about History. Australia has a flag who symbolises connexions with the United Kingdom. Australia is also part of the commonwealth. The biggest star on the flag represent all of the six states and territories of the commonwealth. The Commonwealth is an organisation with 53 members states who have the same goal and same founding values like human rights, the non discrimination, freedom...They all respect this charter. We sometimes see Commonwealth like a big family because they share the same beliefs. They regularly discuss issues and are really active all over the world. Australia had sadly know an ecological disaster between September 2019 and February 2020. An impressive fire started in the forest and destroyed   5.8 hectares of forests and killed a billion of animals. They also had many human lost. It created a lot of pollution and big impact on the tourism of Australia.
