The notion i'm going to deal whith is about places and exchanges specificaly to the influence of the web on today’s society. First i woul like to give a definition of the notion, the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies. Our wourld is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. The different cultural, economic, ecological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern day world. So we way wonder what influence does the web have on today's society ?

In classe i studies many documents like « the fifth power » and « flash mobs »

In the society many power influence and control people. I speak about the fifth power who is the power of the economic system or the power of the Internet. To demonstrate we used three documents « think different », « the power of google » and « empowored citizens ». With the first document we saw the new technology like iPhone created by Steve Job, a visionary who think the power of technology can change the way we live. The second document speak about google, it’s new internet search engine capable of providing most of the information available worlwide to anyone with internet access but he is accused by competitors to giving preference to its websites, google said simply it changed its technology to get better and more relevant results witch can be a drawback for other sites, not a intitrust but as healthy competitor.google is one of the internet’s long term success storie so he influence lot of people. Social media are not dangerous most of the time but can rapidly get out of control or fall into the wrong hands and become dangerous tools.

However they can also help people to organize flash lootings and riots. For exemple, in the US calls for change and protest movements against corporate power are miltiplying.

Now we speak about NGO (no gouvernemental organisation) or movements who rise up against secrets of the governement and denounce bad things in the society for exemple the « Occupy Wall street movement » group of protesters to politican slogan « We are the 99 % » because they are the 99 % of Americans who gave almot nothing compared to the weathiest 1 % who has everything. They are protesting against economie inequality and the power of big business over government. Next they is Wikileaks a website opened in 2006 who published and made available highly sensitive documents from various anonymous news sources, more than 1,2 millions to informe people about action of government and holding government to account
