   “Globalization is an important fact, and we’re not going to be able to build a wall around that.” This quotation by Barack Obama, the 44th United States’s president, clearly reflects the huge importance of globalization in today’s life.

 This selection is made up of 2 documents: The first one, is a 2022 poster entitled : “Beyond fish and ships… What are the benefits of healthy oceans?” made by the NOAA (The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) which is a scientific agency that is monitoring oceans and seas. This document shows us all the benefits provided by “our world ocean”. The last document is an  excerpt from a speech named “Blue bonds: what they are, and how they can help the oceans” given by Maram Ahmed, in the school of Oriental and African Studies, a department of the University of London on June 7th 2019. This speech reflects the negative parts of “Globalization” and also comes up with solutions to fight against those issues. All the documents that we have here provide an overview on Globalization more especially on the key roles of Ocean and Seas in this worldwide process. So we can wonder : in what oceans and seas are core spaces of globalization. First, I will focus on the importance of oceans and seas in Globalization. Then I shall turn to the environmental impacts of globalization on oceans and seas and some solutions provided by people.

  First, oceans and seas are really essential for globalization. Indeed, If oceans and seas had not been used for transportation, the global shipping delay would have been much longer. Today, sea routes especially permit global shipments to be delivered faster than if they were delivered by trucks.Document 1 illustrates this way of transportation as it is written: US Shipping transportation represents a huge 76% of the country’s flows. Also Shipping contributes a lot to the economy because on the one hand, it is the most used transportation method, on the other hand, this sector employs a lot of people : almost 3 million people in the USA. All of this represents 282 billion $ in the US economy !
