Can we broadcast or publish everything?

The appearance of new supports of communication as internet engendered a considerable increase of the information. Unless otherwise mentioned, the problems brought are the morality, the ethics, the legality or the freedom of speech is imperative, so is censorship a necessary evil? We will weigh up the pros and the cons for highlight another possibility.

According to me, the freedom of speech is really important; it’s the opposite of the repression. The power of speech by broadcast or publishes whatever you think is essential; we have to dare to express our opinions without fears. I am firmly convinced that this law promotes the individual dignity, the transparency and the democracy.

In China, people have an extremely limited access to the “wright information”, the responsible for that is the corruption that gangrened the Fourth power. Since December 2005, about ten journalists and cyberdissidents were arrested by the police. On the other hand, the Chinese authorities impose a blackout on the communication of the Tibetan immolations in 2011 by forbidding the foreign press to go on-the-spot. That’s why freedom of speech is important but in spite of this revolting situation, an excess of the freedom of speech can be dangerous.

However, the publication (on TV, newspapers, the internet...) owes be limited to protect the individuals right. Indeed, the broadcasting of everything and anything would lead the world in anarchy with destructive consequences. Hence, the human ethics problem settles, it seems to me that we are not as much responsible to control ourselves that’s why the censorship turns out to be necessary. Because beyond the moral problem also asks the question of the legality.

Publish or broadcast some imbecilities is one thing, insult or discriminate a minority is a thing which owes condemned. For example, positive censure allows fighting against the racism and the speeches of hatred. We cannot imagine an advertisement enshrining white superiority, it’s totally, fortunately we have law and censor!

To conclude, I’m convinced that we can’t broadcast or published everything, censorship must be necessary if the content do not respect human duties or human health
