How does the computer system work?

The computer system works thanks to two programs called Easy Source Program and KeyMRO. These two programs have for final goal the integration of suppliers to the company and the decrease in costs.

KeyMRO is the unification of four big non-competing industrial groups including Thomson (Rhodia, Schneider, Faurecia and Thomson). They decide to gather their experience and their competences in order to minimize their functional costs. This gathering is concretized by the creation of KeyMRO that executes the following actions:

• Guarantee low cost purchases for customers

• Standardize and simplify needs

• Create a strong dynamic thanks to a global approach and high purchase volumes

Easy Source Program is an e-business tool made for cost reduction and change acceleration. This program rationalizes the purchases that are non production related. It uses a global and standard tool, the internet, in B-to-B relationships. This helps controlling the supply of a worldwide market network operated by Hubwoo-Avisium. Easy Source Program helps the company to:

• Capture non production related purchases

• Control the budget agreements

• Apply the purchases decisions

• Accelerate the impact on the result and cash flow.

The following diagram represents the global way of functioning of both KeyMRO and Easy Source Program

- A lack of detailed visibility for non related purchases product was encountered

- Heterogeneity of procedures for creation and ratification purchases demand, Structural complexity of out-of-the-production purchases: high number of orders

Now that Thomson uses this program, there is a new unique platform that contains a lot of supplies of products and services, a high variety of suppliers and a redundancy of needs.
