In the middle east, the situation of human rights was serious. For example, in Afghanistan, there was the Taliban Government in Iraq and Syria, dictators were in place like Saddam Hussein and Al Assad. In, 9/11/2001, Al Qaida organized a terrorism attack on USA. In reaction of this attack, the US government and his president Bush, made an invasion of Afghanistan and later Iraq. With this invasion, the situation has gone worst for the population of Middle East in general.

Between that, in 2011, the population of some ME countries did a revolution called the Arab Spring. But, with this, some attempts of Human Rights appears, countries like Syria developed a war which consequences are development of a ne terrorism organisation.

Before 9/11 which was a tournament of the History, the situation was already bad. indeed, the rights of women, the freedom of speech and liberty of press, for example, didn’t really respect.

Women didn’t have access to the education (always), to work, and didn’t have basic freedoms.

Freedom of speech. Protest didn’t allow. People could be kill for their opinions. (Raif Badawi)

Liberty of press. Manipulation of the informations and all the informations didn’t publish. Like in Syria and Iraq. (carte)

With the 9/11 attack, the situation of the human rights in these countries gone bad. The invasion of Afghanistan and later Iraq has degraded the situation.

The US government were against Al-Qaida and Taliban. So, they made torture, war crimes (Iraq and Afghanistan). —> Convention de Geneva 1949.

People who helped the American army could be murdered for that and their families too.

After that, the terrorism intensified in these countries. (plus d’atteintes). Attempts to the right to protest, the freedom of speech. Kill innocents people.

But, also, in other countries, the attacks spread. For example, in London, and Madrid in 2004. There were kidnappings and execution of occidentals people (especially journalists) who were innocents.

In 2011, the Arab spring began with many revendications:

Democracy

Liberty. Education, equality, law, freedom of speech, right to dignity.

In some countries like Syria, this revolution failed. The government of Assad decide to make a repression. Indeed, from the begin, there were 200 000 dead.

Attempts to Human Rights, massive murders, kills of civilian, woman and kids (photo), interdiction of leaving the country. Destruction of hospitals, schools, so, the government limits the access to fondamental garanties by the Human Rights.

With these wars in Syria and Iraq, a new terrorist organisation born in substitution of Al-Qaida and spread in the world : Daesh.

Daesh is responsible of many violations of the HR. Genocide in Kurdistan, kidnappings and execution and massive murders. Kenya, Algeria, Charlie Hebdo —> Liberty of speech.

Kenya—> 148 dead.
