Myths and Heroes

I will talk about the notion of myths and heroes. First I would like to give a definition of this notion: a myth is a story that may or may not be true…, and a hero is someone who is admired for his courage, outstanding achievements and noble qualities, illustrate this, I chose two documents: Oprah Winfrey and Lance Armstrong. I chose it because these documents shows the courage and eloquence of these two heroes to me. My problematic is «  Why are myths and heroes important to our society ? »

The first document I chose talks about Oprah Winfrey's life in the workplace, he said that Oprah is the most powerful woman in entertainment. This review draws attention to the fact that his rise to the top may be due to the influence it had on the US election of Barack Obama. So we can say that Oprah Winfrey refers to the world of culture is that it is a woman who has character.

  After reading this comment, we understand that the author wants to show us that Oprah Winfrey is a woman who likes to develop something different, which has the ambition and the future for his career.

We are given a favorable opinion which allows us to make our own ideas on the subject.

Interview with Lance Armstrong shows us that this man was in sports and in life. It is an interesting and relevant notion of myths and heroes illustration because it shows how the vision of the perfect hero can be destroyed at near people who admire him. This interview illustrates perfectly the idea of myths and hero because he showed us that despite his mistake is a person who was admired for his courage, for his outstanding achievements.

Commentary and interview us to understand when one course of action or do can become a hero therefore a myth. There is a relationship between these documents for the interview study on Lance Armstrong is done by Oprah Winfrey.

In conclusion I fully agree with the idea that these two documents are part of the concept of myths and heroes. I really enjoyed reading this article because I am very interested in the lives of famous people.
