SPACE AND EXCHANGES

I'm going to talk about the notion spaces and exchanges. To begin with, i'm going to define the notion. This notion deals with the geographical areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between those societies. Thoses different interactions can be cultural, economic, sociological or even about the language, and they characterised our modern-day world. Today, do we have to be afraid of the globalization?

In a first look, globalization seems to be a really good development for our world. Since few years, the world has become a small village. In fact, exchanges between countries are easier and faster. Today, our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. We can travel all over the world.

Here we can talk about one of the major point in the globalization in the most recent years is the internet and the different social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Skype…They are changing the way we live and communicate today. These networks make it easier for us to stay in touch with friends and family abroad, they open up borders and enable us to communicate with people abroad. We can take the example of the power of networks during the arabe spring with especialy the group “Anonymous” who hacked official networks and spread secret informations and all that to try to help the tunisians protesters against the governement.

[ We usually think that globalisation is only positive. But in some kind of way, it isn't.

Let's take the example of the Ebola Outbreak. The Ebola outbreak was currently in the news this year.

Ebola is a really deadly virus first spotted in the African countries in 1976. But in the space of five months in 2014, 19 031 people caught the virus and it killed 7 373 of them.

The problem is that this is the first time that a virus causes contamination out of central Africa and outside Africa. (USA and Spain.) And it can be explain by strangers who traveled to contaminated countries or healthcare workers who have looked after sick patients and then get back to their countries with the virus. Globalization seems, regarding to this problem, not so good. ]

So we can be thanksful for the globalization who facilitates our exchanges of all kinds. But we have tobe careful because globalization can prove to be dangerous.
