Harlem is a district of Manhattan, in New York.

It is a district where the inhabitants have very different cultures such as: Afro-American or Latino... For example, Harlem gave birth to the "Harlem Renaissance" which is a movement of African-Americans whose main key is music. This movement took place in order to decrease racism and create a sense of ethnic pride. This "renaissance" took place throughout the 1920s. There are to the "116th Street Festival" which is a continuation of a movement that parents, teachers and social activists started to educate children about Latino and Puerto Rican culture, this festival is open to all.

It is also touched by gentrification as super markets change to organic food, or design has moved from stone to glass.

Harlem is a neighborhood in the northern part of the borough of Manhattan in New York City, United States. It is located between north of 96th Street and Washington Heights. However, the space is unofficially bounded by 110th Street to the south and 155th Street to the north.After several decades of crisis and decay, Harlem is now transformed into a vibrant and attractive neighborhood, whereas it was considered a ghetto where crime was high just a few years ago. The fact that Bill Clinton chose to set up his offices there reflects this urban transformation and shows the desire to make it one of the attractive centers of New York.

In 2010, its population was 363,633.
