The City of New York (located in the north of U.S), often called New York City or simply New York or N.Y.C is the most popular and beautiful city in the United States. At its core is Manhattan, and its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building , Central Park, Broadway, Times Square , The statue of Liberty , Ellis Island (the Island of immigrants), Brooklyn Bridge, museums, Harlem and many others sites.

The history of Harlem: Harlem is a large neighborhood in the northern section of the New York City borough of Manhattan. The history of Harlem is very interesting, sometimes tragic. There is a lot to learn about this area. In 1626 the Dutch called the district Nieuw Haarlem. At the end of the XIXth century, it was a very chic and luxurious district. In 1929, the whites left this district. Quickly, many African-Americans from the South settled in Harlem to find work. Tourists often wonder about safety in the Harlem neighborhood of New York. Many people believe that New York is a dangerous city. This fear comes from the image of the 80s and 90s when there were big drug problems. Harlem, long regarded as one of the dark side of New York, is today in full light in the eyes of all.

The New Harlem: The Harlem landscape consists mostly of 19th century brick mansions. The neighborhood has rebuilt and gives a new breath to its shops nearby. It’s a beautiful city where everybody can leave in peace and without danger.

The Street Art: There is no doubt that those of us who live in this City love our art in public places. From the tip of Manhattan, north and south and into the outer boroughs, they are surrounded with an ever changing canvas. The free flowing world of graffiti artists runs the gamut from commissioned pieces on legal walls to unauthorized work on the walls of privately owned buildings, much of which is quickly painted over.

The music in Harlem: Harlem is also renowned for its musical history. It is absolutely necessary to visit the famous Apollo Theater. Every night, there is an Amateur Night to discover the new talents. We hoot or applaud to decide who wins. Most Jazz and soul artists have started their Harlem career. Jazz and soul are very popular in the world music; there are a lot of popular jazz artists like Amy Winehouse and Ella FitzGerald etc and also a lot of popular soul artists like Ben Oncle soul and Tina Turner etc. Many tourists go to Harlem only to hear music in Apollo Theater because the best jazz and soul artists perform there. Center of Afro-American culture, Harlem saw the birth of the most emblematic artists, singers and poets of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Food in Harlem: Is also known for his Soul Food, traditional Afro-American food. The food looks like what you eat in the South (Louisiana, Mississippi etc.). For example fried chicken, sweet potatoes, beans. These dishes are not suitable for those who want to slim down! It’s a really delicious food; many people go to Harlem only to eat this kind of food. Harlem is repudiated for his food. Whether students or self-taught, the revival of Harlem's musical, culinary and nocturnal scene attracts visitors from all walks of life. You can go brunch in a soul food, and taste chicken waffles and many other dishes.
