Introduction :

        I did my second year internship in the social welfare department with a social  worker working in the prevention and integration sector. We accompany  people from zero to ninety nine years old for all types of problems as well as active solidarity subsidies . For my exam, I will present a situation where I accompanied a person under the active solidarity  income (or social benefit).

        In order to respect privacy. I changed the name of the  benefiary. I will explain the origin of Mrs Petit's request. She was helped at the place where she was previously living. Mrs Petit made an appointment with our services on February 05th , 2018, following a letter, from the active solidarity revenue, concerning the orientation interview (à expliquer) . She had difficulties to understand and explain her situation. This is explained by the fact that Mrs Petit is of Turkish origin, the language barrier is important.

        Mrs Petit is 40 years old, she is married to the father of her children. Mrs and Mister have four children. The latter are: nom 22 years, Leo 10 years, Antoine 9 years and Lucas 7 months old. Mrs and Mr Petit now have 3 dependent children, the 22-year-old lives outside the home. The couple separated in 2009. The couple went back living together in 2013, in a village related to my social service. They did not declare to the family allowance services (CAF) their initial separation, therefore Mr and Mrs have today consequent debts due to overpayments from above services

        According to Madame petit, the difficulty of understanding the French language and the administrative papers created an overpayment for Madame and Monsieur. The family allowance service  debt is therefore linked to the change in marital status and the failure to declare the income received, this debt ranges to 4986 euros. In addition, Madame has an electricity bill amounting 720 euros to pay and a water debt of approximately 270 euros. Mrs Petit expresses difficulties with one of her children and more precisely with Lucas. She confides that he sleeps badly because of a dental attack. Lucas seems to have black, blue gums. They bleed when he chew his toys.

Those initial elements of evaluation enabled me to identify how to solve the problems:
- Lack of autonomy in administrative procedures,
- Difficult mobilization ,
- Health troubles for Lucas.

Following these observations, it seems  necessary to focus our intervention to support Madam in the administrative papers. Two possibilities to find a job, adjustment of their financial situations. Mother and child protection follow up Lucas.

I directed Madame to various partners and services :

- accompaniment by a Family allowance fund to clear their debts

- accompaniment by Councillor in voluntary and family sector on the management of its her budget

- financial assistance to pass driving lesson

- An orientation towards the mother and child protection was made in order to avoid legal action. During the consultation, Leo and Antoine expressed that Lucas often falls off the couch, which explains the color of his gums. The  nurse told the lady that Lucas had a motor development of a 9-10 months baby when he is only 7 months old. The nurse then warned Madame about this situation this.

- The service proposed  french lesson by association in Charente

- We informed Mrs about the possibilities of day care for her child so that she can face a training in order to find a job

My intervention with Madame finished when I had to leave my internship. I explain her that his situation would be resumed by my internship tutor.

J’ai effectué mon stage de deuxième année au service départemental d’action sociale auprès d’une assistante de service social en mission dans le secteur prévention insertion. Nous accompagnons les personnes de 0 à 99 ans pour tous types de problématiques ainsi que les bénéficiaires du RSA. Pour mon examen, je vais présenter une situation où j’ai accompagné une personne dans le cadre du RSA (Revenu de solidarité active).
