The Fault in Our Stars

The story takes place in Indianapolis; Hazel Grace Lancaster is a 16 year old girl.

Although she is bored a lot, her mother forces her to attend a support group led by Patrick. One day, at a meeting of the group, she meets Augustus Waters, a 17 year old boy. It is there to support his friend Isaac (who is also a friend of Hazel), a brown and scrawny boy.

After the meeting, He invites Hazel to come to see the movie at home. They get on well between the two teens and at the end of the evening, they decide to read a favorite book to each other. Hazel recommends an imperial affliction, from Peter Van Houten.

Hazel explains all the magnificence of his book is the story of a girl named Anna who has leukemia. An Imperial Affliction is the only thing Hazel had read that corresponds to the experience she herself experienced. It describes how the novel stops in the middle of a sentence, depriving readers of a real purpose. She wonders about the author, Peter Van Houten, who is expatriate to Amsterdam after the publication of his novel, and that no one, has heard from since.

Meanwhile, Isaac, is mad with grief because his girlfriend, Monica, dropped it. Hazel and Augustus trying somehow to console him. One day, Augustus called and informed that some Lidewij Vligenthart's assistant Van Houten managed to persuade his boss to answer an email Augustus wrote. After several emails exchanged, Lidewij writing itself Augustus and told her that if Hazel and wanted him to come to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten and to finally know the answers to their questions, they would be welcome.

Augustus then asks if Hazel has kept his vow, every sick child has the right to hope that a foundation is responsible to achieve but it responds that she used to go to Disney Land with his parents so that it was only thirteen.
