INTRODUCTION
Communication is very important for people in the domains of education, profession, culture, entertainments etc. people use different means of communication to fulfill their needs. In the past, Africans used traditional means of communication such as drums, smoke and criers. Today, despite the fact that some people maintain these former means of communication so as to keep the traditions, the Information and Communication Technologies (TIC), such as radio, phone, television and internet have developed. People prefer the use of the modern means of communication because they are efficient, quick and easy. What is bad is the misuse of these means in general and specifically television. Our dissertation deals with the advantages and disadvantages of television in children’s life.

Advantages of television on children
Many programs on television are dealing with education, good lifestyles, and culture. Children draw many needful advantages from them. By way of illustration, we can consider the program “ ENGLISH I LIKE IT” that takes place every Saturday on ORTB channel. This allows students to learn English even at home. “QUESTIONS POUR UN CHAMPION” on TV5 Monde is an interesting and instructional game since it develops the knowledge of the children watching it. News are also profitable to children as they inform them about what happens in their country and all over the world.
